Dear Thumper: Week 29

Dear Thumper,

I know you can't count yet but yes..mommy missed last week but she had a very good reason....we went on vacation! You, me, daddy, and Jack went to the river for a long needed break. You and I did a lot of lounging around and playing with Jack. It was very relaxing and you did a lot of moving. Daddy even got mommy a brand new fun island to lounge around on in the water. You are getting so big. Apparently you are already 2.5 lbs and 15 inches long! You have had your feet in my ribs most of the day today! We are going to see Dr. Seidel this week and hopefully I can find out what those little flutters are in there. Talking to Miss. Lee Ellen, she has the same thing...so I think it is just you little boys and your shenanigans.

Well little boy, we love you and you just keep cookin in there.

Love,
Mommy

State of the Mommy Address

I have to admit that I started this blog thinking I would get to complain about pregnancy and prepare my friends. Well, I don't really have anything to complain about. I have an ache here and there and I can't eat crab cakes but whatever. Easy peasy. I have had 2 people ask me this week if I was ready for this to be over and have this baby out...and you know what? No! It is too fun right now. So I thought I would start a list of awesome things about being pregnant:
  1. Awesome Dental Scapegoat: We went to the dentist the other week and I was off the hook. First off I didn't get x-rays...not that it is a pain but I was already in the chair :). THEN I am horrible about flossing but when they checked me, they said "you gums are puffy in a few places but it is probably the pregnancy hormones". Shazam...off the hook!
  2. People Helping Out my Lazy Ass: The other day I was too lazy to go to the breakroom to get a fork...but it doesn't matter. People come by and ask if they can get me anything! YAY!
  3. Thick Hair I Always Wanted: Well not "thick" but more of it that usual. It is fabulous...and staying silky smooth all the time.
  4. Bare Skin: Since I am supposed to be the "always-hot pregnant lady", no one bats an eye at the tank tops and shorts! Not that I really cared in the first place, but then again I wasn't sporting these giant cans either.
  5. Fountains of Energy: Apparently I am supposed to be all tired and stuff but I am quite the opposite. I haven't had a sleepy afternoon in 6 months. I get up at 7 everyday and I could still be going at midnight if I needed. I feel like I am on espresso a lot of the time but nope. Like today, I have done a ridiculous amount of work and I am still going full speed.
  6. Stretchy Pants: Do I really need to explain?
  7. Punches to the Organs: I get to feel this little guy all day. That is super awesome.
  8. Baked Goods: A girl at work loves to bake and often brings in goodies to the office...and I am ALWAYS on the invite list to come get some. Cinnamon rolls, pies, cupcakes, cookies...you name it. YUM
  9. Smiling Happy People: man everyone is nice to you...it rocks

Well that is just some I could rattle off right now. I am having a great time.

Dear Thumper: Week 27

Dear Thumper,

Welp kiddo...you are already a bundle of wiggles. I need to get daddy on getting that video camera so I can record you squirming around in there. I swear last night you didn't stop moving for like 2 hours. Hope you are having a good time in there! But I have to warn you....you are making daddy pretty anxious. First he thinks I am squishing you and that it is making you mad and then he is just too darn excited to wait for you to get here. I told him you need to grow some more. We found that you like us humming SNL digital short songs at you last night. You would kick at daddy when he did it. I can't really get that close to you because of these feed bags I am growning for you.

Your room is almost done. Grandma ordered us a chair to snuggle in. Once that is here, we are pretty set. Daddy and I need to pick out your name so we can finish up your art. I also got you a pack and play to sleep and play in already and Leah is letting you borrow her stroller. We are really starting to collect some gear!

On an exciting note, I had my glucose test and I don't have gestational diabetes...so we get to eat all the lucky charms we want! We are almost in the last trimester and now we get to see the doctor every 2 weeks. I don't think that will be too exciting but at least we can make sure you are doing well.

Now goal for next week, lets keep growing together and keeping the mommy discomfort to a minimum. You get a gold star so far....

Love you kiddo,
Mommy

Dresser!

I have to rave about the new dresser/changing table and its arrival. I found it on another site but found it for the best price on Walmart.com. I was even more excited to the see the Site to Store option. That, my friends, is free freakin shipping to the store! At Target, the same dresser would cost over $100 bucks to ship! Anyway, I ordered it Monday night and it said 7-10 business days to ship. THEN on Thursday I got the e-mail that it was here! I had to do errands but Kevin put it together while I was out and I am very happy. One of the drawers is a little tight but I figure it will loosen up. Plus I wasn't trying to buy a piece to be used forever...so I am not expecting perfection. I am very pleased and excited to have an almost complete nursery!

Happy Mommy-To-Be Day!

Well today is Mother's Day. Kevin got me one of those willow statues of a pregnant woman :) It was very sweet and unexpected! He is super and going to be an awesome daddy. Baby boy celebrated by having a dance party in my belly for like an hour today. He was going CRAZY!!!! He would be kicking on side..then spin around to kick the other. He made me a very happy mommy to be today. And to celebrate him...we took his picture in my new suit:

Hiccups!

Little Mann had his first set of hiccups on Monday night. Laying in bed, I felt the same sensation low in my belly over and over. It was pretty consistent and it was too slow to be my heartbeat. Reason I say that about my heartbeatis because a lot of the times I feel him moving, I can also see and feel my own pulse in my body. Like I can see my shirt move to my heartbeat or hear it in my ears. Weird. Wonder if he is just pushing my veins around and making that happen.

O well. Thought I would note this development :). He is an active little booger.

25 Week Bikini Belly!

I am taking a risk and wearing a bikini. It is so comfortable and I can actually still wear my bathing suits from last year. The bottoms fit so low that my belly is no biggie and, so far, I haven't gained much weight in the booty! I also bought a maternity bathing suit and I will have Kevin take a picture of that one this weekend. It is a tankini but super cute, I think :)

Dear Thumper: Week 25/26

Dear Thumper,

So I am going to combine this week and next because I am just so busy! There is lots to do to prepare for you. Last week we went to the hospital to take a tour of where we will meet you. It was very exciting and Daddy is even more anxious for you to be here. You sure have been moving this past week. Saturday you were going crazy. I swear you were moving non-stop for like an hour! Daddy, Pop, and Uncle Preston got to see you make my belly move. You also have been kicking some organ and making mommy feel like she is on a rollercoaster. It is really wild! You also had a big growth spurt last week. I thought it was just me, but some other people noticed. You are starting to push my belly button out!

This week we are going to see another possible pediatrician for you. I will let you know how it goes. You just keep growing little one!

Love,
Mommy
